I first found out about him in this documentary about VHS collecting (yes, I'm aware of how that sounds), called "Rewind This" and he just came off as a pretentious douche who was only in it for the "irony"

Most major trends are just contrarian to whatever was popular before, so do not worry. Within the next decade, there will probably be a trend towards loose clothing and small-framed discreet glasses like back in the 1990s.

If VHS collecting catches on(something I have been anticipating for a while), I could make some money with my collection. I am keeping the anime and Nickelodeon tapes though.

I don't think that VHS tape collecting will be an enmasse trend like it was with Vinyl, because you can actually make the arguement that Vinyl has "richer quality". VHS tapes, as we know them, only get up to 360p depending on how well-worn the tape itself is; maybe even 400p if it's a master. I still think that there's a lot of unexplored territory with magnetic tape storage because there actually were specialty vhs tapes made for HD Tvs in the early 00's that were capable of storing fifty gigs worth of data at an output of 1080p. Mind you, they could only be played on a certain player and were copy protected, but still, it's kind of incredible
