Yeah, that's probably why the games I like usually seem to try something new at least. I especially love Gunpoint's weird slingshot jumping mechanic and its use in stealth. I don't mind Indie games that look like they're from the NES/SNES days, as long as they have fun game mechanics that aren't just restricted to that era.

back off-topic, I've been doing some streaming on Twitch lately, and a very generous friend decided to get me Neptunia Re:Birth 1 on Steam, so I've been considering starting to do streams of that on Fridays or Saturdays once the new headphones I ordered on Amazon arrive. :3

Bleh just spent $100 today on crap, sucks man. Got a book, a present for Shippo's mom, and groceries (as well as new pants for work and a belt for his bro)

Getting a big check Thursday and an extra 15% discount for working Black Friday tho, Shippo and I might go in on a TV.

I played their games when they were Clover.
Still doesn't mean I can't get sick of hearing about them when every other game that gets announced is by them these days.

Though they pretty much make character action games, at least they are good. But I really wish they make a sequel to Anarchy Reigns.
